I had the 4 wheel alignment checked (and adjusted) and the active steering works much better on the highway (only place I use it) Before alignment, when trying to use the function, it worked so badly one of the dash screens would pop up with a "time to stop and get coffee" message within 10-20 minutes of use. The car was always trying to correct for what the bad alignment was doing.

Before the end of the summer you will love the ventilated seats. I may never buy a car without that option.
Agree on ventilated seats. I never wanted them before but having experienced it now its really nice on hot days. It is kind of an odd sensation though

And you really want to be expecting it before it happens.

When it first turns on, I always think I wet myself (not that that EVER happens).
The 911 has it, but it sucks air in vs blowing out. I had it on some ford rentals and they blow ice cold air on you. Really feels uhhhh moist at first.

Gorgeous wagon!

Not sure the pink front plate works though

It would be a mistake to swap this for a new 4 Door Defender, right?

hahaha

I actually had a chance to drive the 4 door defender a while back. It was the 4 cylinder version (which felt surprinsingly quick). Even though we have a RRS which theoretically is probably of similar size and weight, the Defender just felt huge to me. Also, one of the things i love about the RRS is the perfect weighting of the steering-- the defender felt overly light in contrast. It's also really tall even in its low setting. Dont think it would fit in our 1920s era garage but that might not matter to you.

And maybe the one i drove was an early build, but it had several creaks and rattles. Again, in contrast to our RRS which is tight as a drum over any surface. And I guess you'd get used to it but I find the location of the shifter up on the dash kind of annoying as it partially blocks part of the touch screen.

But I get the appeal. Our 7 year old absolutely loved it-- wanted to get one that day lol. I like the vibe of the interior a lot.

Yea, thats the problem... the seven year old part of me loves them too. I was able to check one out at the Concours this weekend, and was hopeful that when I climbed inside the feeling would subside. Unfortunately, nope. The interior was just as cool as the outside, even the heft of the side swinging rear door. It is a monstrosity, everything feels so heavy and a good way.

I didn't realize it was a 4cyl, that is very underwhelming. Ultimately, this would be primarily a highway cruiser for us, which makes no sense. We will probably go take one for a drive this weekend, with any luck it will be harsh and miserable and get this out of my head.
