Just to reiterate: Porsche does not repair PDKs —they replace them. And PDK has many wear items. And the units cost $15,000 to $20,000.

If any of you are buying a preowned or older car, I would strongly advise against skipping PDK.

Good point. I hadn’t looked closely enough at that car to realize it was pdk

You mean that you strongly advise skipping the PDK?

I have attempted to convince myself to just settle and get a PDK (plenty available) and I just cannot do it. As a friend stated to me yesterday while at The Vintage (annual BMW show held in Hot Springs, NC), Would you have every purchased the Z3 with an automatic? I promptly replied, “Hell no!” In return he said, “There you go… the same applies to purchasing a 911.”

And that’s a decent spec but the color combo is meh.

I’m sure someone will pay it but it doesn’t have me jumping up and down the way one in a neat color with the right wheels would.
I would prefer one with 30-36k miles. Anything above 50k miles and I am simply not interested as I intend to keep the car until my demise.

My color preferences are anything other than arctic silver or black. Meteor Grey is #1 and Carrera White # 2.

Agreed, someone will pay it. It will not be me. If it was maybe $82k with the Carrera S II wheels it would be having a PPI and over-rev report performed ASAP.

Unless it’s a newer car under CPO warranty, i would always skip PDK.

If you get any Turbo/Turbo S after the 997, you don’t have a choice —and I don’t disagree. The car is faster than you can humanly shift and still keep power going to the wheels —but it is a narrower powerband than a GT3.

I think it works in the GT3 because you have more “time” in gear to accelerate.

And for resale, 6/7 speed three pedal manual will always hold value better.

It took me almost a year when the market wasn't nearly this crazy to find one that checked my boxes. I personally wouldn't settle for a PDK. If you want an automatic sports car there are a whole bunch of other options, but the manual in the 911 is what really sets it apart. Just be patient and you'll get lucky with the right one soon enough.

I hope I locate one sooner than that. My patience is limited given that I have already wasted 9 to 13 years (model year 2009-2012).

Not bad for a base C2. Clearly it does not have the 19” Carrera S II wheels. https://www.porschefairfield.com/use...AA29959S707224

That's not bad. If you get serious, let me know. I owned a 3.6 997.2 back in the day and I've been to that shop a few times over the years. I wonder if the wheels are the only misrepresentation and I also wonder what build sheet shows. I did not go all sleuth on it or the photos.

The build sheet says it should have Carrera II wheels. It also has a limited slip. Cool spec! I wonder if those are winter wheels?
