Hmm...this case seems more squarely on the driver. The case the family is trying to make against Tesla also seems like the wrong argument to be making (basically that Tesla shouldn't have sold a car that can accelerate so fast, etc).

Been wondering if anyone was going to add something about it to this thread.

It's a shame that Musk and those doing his bidding are not on trial.

Tesla beat BMW for 2021 luxury crown. Surprising?

Tesla Cybertruck is delayed until 2023

Tesla will not be launching output of the Cybertruck EV pickup this year as it focuses on increasing capacity at current plants in California and China and begins production at new factories in Texas and Germany, CEO Elon Musk said Wednesday.

“We will not be introducing new vehicle models this year,” Musk said on the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call. “It would not make sense.”

Musk said the company is focused on optimizing a limited supply of computer chips that operate basic vehicle functions such as electric seats and window switches, and that introducing new models and new complexity would actually reduce vehicle output.

Musk said the company continues engineering and planning work on the Cybertruck, the Tesla Semi cargo truck, the Roadster and the Tesla robot that’s being called Optimus.

But in terms of production of new products, that would only come when they increase Tesla output rather than limit it. “It will be dependent on [when we] will be able to produce more or fewer,” he said.
Musk said there are no plans for a cheaper Tesla, which some observers refer to as the Model 2.

Kind of curious how they define "luxury" and what the average transaction price is for Tesla vs the competitors.

Tesla segregated Black workers into separate areas that its employees referred to as “porch monkey stations,” “the dark side,” “the slave ship” and “the plantation,” the lawsuit alleges.

Only Black workers had to scrub floors on their hands and knees, and they were relegated to the Fremont, Calif., factory’s most difficult physical jobs, the suit states.

Graffiti — including “KKK,” “Go back to Africa,” the hangman’s noose, the Confederate Flag and “F-- [N-word]” — were carved into restroom walls, workplace benches and lunch tables and were slow to be erased, the lawsuit says.

Tesla responded to the lawsuit, filed by the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, with a blog post saying that the agency had investigated almost 50 discrimination complaints in the past without finding misconduct — an assertion the agency denied.

“A narrative spun by the DFEH and a handful of plaintiff firms to generate publicity is not factual proof,” the blog post said, adding that the company provides “the best paying jobs in the automotive industry … at a time when manufacturing jobs are leaving California.”

The lawsuit comes in the wake of Tesla’s billionaire chief executive, Elon Musk, moving the company’s headquarters from Palo Alto to Austin, Texas, where he is building a major new assembly plant.

The state’s lawsuit suggests the relocation to a state known for looser enforcement is no coincidence, declaring it to be “another move to avoid accountability.”

Not only were Tesla’s Black workers subjected to “willful, malicious” harassment, but they were also denied promotions and paid less than other workers for the same jobs, the suit asserted. They were disciplined for infractions for which other workers were not penalized.
Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk. Fuck Tesla. Fuck Musk.

I don't know how the Tesla fanbois are justifiying and whatabouting this, but is there any chance they're not?

How much more will it take to send Tesla and Musk off into historical trash heap of vilely bad actors as they belong?

In the words of Maya Angelou, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."

There is no justification of this.

While I dislike Musk quite a bit, it's rather hard to fathom or square up in this day and age.

A fish rots from the head. Not sure there's anything to be had from overthinking beyond that.
