Agree.

It’s addictive. That and the intake noise.

And honestly, Porsche makes some of the best mid-engine cars around. Reliable. Powerful. And decent build quality. It generally makes me look at McLaren or Ferrari with extreme skepticism.

I “get” the subjective appeal of the latter, but when I’m thinking total hassle free ownership experience, the modern Porsche is golden.
I'm not a huge fan of the 981's styling. Not sure why. To me it just looks too big and bulky, and it's not helped by the fact that it get the proportions right you have to run 20" wheels.

I continue to think that the 987.1 is the best looking Boxster, but all of that is a matter of personal preference.

It looks worse in person, IMO.

The 981 does look "big" but I find it to be pretty. The interior is as well. It's not the quantum leap forward the 987 was compared to the 986/996, but it's certainly much nicer.

Almost certainly a ground strap, yes. But it is odd to loop it like that. It could also be (performing double duty as) a back up in case something is removed incorrectly or breaks off.

that's an extremely weird looking ground strap.

I almost want to say it's some sort of emergency engine retainer strap. Maybe to keep the engine from submarining in a crash?

For some reason I can’t understand your need for a review of the M2 comp. You have a car with the same engine all but a little bit longer and you’ve driven The M2 comp already. I really believe the only difference is the M2 is more toss able (due to the shorter wheelbase and not the weight) and smaller inside other than that I don’t know what difference you might think there will be.

Anyone interested? I know the seller. Good guy.

It's a FB listing. Let me know if the link doesn't work.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/5225...7330329428628/

listing text:
Hi,
Looking to sell my GT4. The GT4 is CPO, purchased from New Orleans Porsche. Has about 7500 miles, I've put just over 4000 of those on myself. Attached the spec sheet, MSRP was $103,255. The car and wheels are ceramic coated with ceramic pro. The only modifications are silver porsche decals on the side and wing, clear LED sidemarkers, and crazy eddies seat bolster protectors. The car has been autocrossed a few times but never abused. Oil changed religiously with Mobil 1 5w-50. The CPO Warranty run 6 years from the original in-service date, which was 8/8/15, so it will end on 8/8/21.
The only defects are some rub marks on the front lip (our old house had a steep driveway that the car barely rubbed on getting in and out), 1 rock chip on the hood and 2 rock chips on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel.
I'm looking to get $90,000 for the car.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
