Alan- I had meant to ask you why you don't daily drive your 911 more? I ask because one of the potential appeals of a 991 would be that it's a sports car I could theoreteically drive often- and even do day to day stuff like drive my kid to school in (he's 6).

And obviously I much prefer the beige and brown interiors over the black. I wound up with Espresso, but Espresso / Cognac is my favorite. Agate (interior) has a nice gray brown tone too. The all beige is too much, but you can find black / beige which provides some nice contrasts and doesn't reflect off the windshield as badly. The only one I really didn't like was bordeaux red. That seems way more prevalant in convertibles than you'd think. I would say 70% of the cars I looked at were black, 20% were red and the rest were the browns and tans. One thing that might be in your favor when the COVID bottleneck loosens is a rush of 2017 cars being turned in off lease. You mihgt find a blip of higher inventory in July / August with a little lower prices on CPO cars. This one is a nice package: https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-fo...7-porsche-911/ edit: and as an FYI, the "smoking package" is nice, it adds a little cover over the small cubby on the center console and an extra cigarette lighter adapter in that spot as well. Just because a car has the smoker package, does not at all mean that the owner was a smoker.

I try to drive it at least once a week but maybe because I am getting older I really like driving my 540 and I also find I really like the Cayman ... I think it sometimes has to do with the 911 being a manual ... something is so much easier about driving an automatic car. |

I still enjoy driving a MT. We've (nearly) always have had an AT car and that has been a wise decision. At this point we are happy enough with our cars that it's hard to imagine the next car not being electric. Although, as I mentioned, the LR4 might become enough of a dinosaur that we use it for niche jobs and may get a mid-size hybrid for my wife at some point. Maybe.
But for me, I can't imagine a P-car not in MT. Unless I win the lottery and get a GT3RS. |

I’m happy with the 2 because of the turbo engine mated with the ZF8. I do mostly drive in Sport, though, so it shifts at the points where I would shift were it a manual. Edit: I’m sure Josh will chime in here... Last edited by wdc330i; 05-26-2020 at 08:08 PM. |
