The Ultimate Car enthusiast Machine (Pics)
I am starting off with I know I am nuts but I had purchased a Ranger wheel balancer a few years back which costs me around $1500 if I remember correctly and no matter how many times I called the company and replaced parts I could not get a wheel balanced ... so I get rid of it after a litte under a year.
Almost a year ago I bought this Coats (a highly reputable brand) 875 machine for a little under $4,000. I had wanted the one that cost $6,000 but after measuring my garage it was just way too big so I figured what the hell ... I am buying this compact sucker. Well it's been sitting in my garage collecting dust, I used it once on the GL450 and it did a good job but 2 weeks later the truck got new tires from the dealer so I never really got to test it until tonight. Well I bought some 19" Lobster claws for the 911 and the car drove great until 60+ where I had a vibration in the steering wheel or at least I thought I felt it at 60 ... so I decided to give it a shot and use the wheel balancer ... the first wheel took my 30 minutes ... the second took my under 10 minutes (I am a newbie and was nervous) Holy crap is all I can say ... this compact machine made my car feel soooooo smooth to the point I realize that the 'road feel' I felt at 40 mph was 'out of balance tire' WOW WOW WOW this car is smooth and I didn't do the rears yet ... yeah I am excited this is so fun and so cool to finally after years of trying to get a result so beautliful !!! Anyway just sharing because this is something that is affordable and really makes a difference ... |

Not that I don't have my own dreams of my own mounting machine in the garage, but you do realize that tire shop will balance a tire for under $20, right?
