Hi,
Yes we did the recording session on Saturday, it took about 3 hours.

We put my car on a Mustang Dyno at a local performance shop. The 'softies put 5 mics on my car, 3 in the engine bay and 2 on the exhaust.

We started with runs at 6500 and decreased the speed in 500 rpm steps. This took a bit since we couldn't have a fan running due to the noise, so to prevent overheating we had to do it in relatively short bits.

Next was a sesion where I'd blip the throttle in progressively higher rpms building on the previous blip, Vroom, vroom, vroom, first 3 blips, then 2, then 1.

Lastly they said "Go for a drive, aggressively" So I just ran up and down the gears for a bit.

Yes, this will be on the X-Box because I made a joke "Now I need to go buy an X-box to drive my car" and they said "yes you will".

I got to listen to the sounds and is was pretty darn sweet, no they won't give me a copy of the files.

They didn't mention a specific game title but they did say that it would definately be used in a game (Even if they did mention a title I would not be allowed to release that info due to the papers I had to sign)

All in all it was a cool experiment, the people were really nice and very appreciative.

The only drag was the shop, they did an HP run on my car but didn't turn it over 5500 so I didn't get a real HP figure. The shop is primarily a domestic car shop so they were not used to BMWs.
