Probably less of an issue than the bridge that collapsed. We were a little sad that we had to bypass so much of the PCH when we went up there this winter.

I know. I love driving that road.
When I was at Cal Poly - I'd drive up or down HWY 1 whenever I'd get the chance. I'd leave as late in the evening as I could - and blast down or up 1 to get to MRY or SLO as needed. It got to the point it would take me only 15 to 20 minutes longer to go the coast than up 101. I had the 2002 then - awesome car for that road. Just plain fun. My tires lasted 16,000 miles. I wonder why. lol. Goodyear European Eagle NCT - back in 1985 they were about the best game in town for a 13" tire. One of these days - I need to try this in the 997. Wonder how long it would take me now?

Is that a part of "the 17 mile scenic drive"? My dad used to live outside of San Jose, and during a visit he took me for a ride down to Monterrey and down along the golf courses and to a very popular, well photographed tree.
Not trying to poke fun at what happened, but after decades of hearing about how California was going to slip into the sea . . . I thought it would be a larger section that falls off

17 Mile Drive is a private road that's part of the Pebble Beach development. It's off Highway 1, but further North, running from Carmel to Pacific Grove.
