I kind of understand the awd since the M5 in the last few generations is a fat overpowered sedan but the 8 speed slushy

You never know. I mean they said that for the E60 way back when. I think this time it will stick but even Porchse relented and made addational manual models.

It makes sense - and it's what customers of these types of cars want. Will make it harder to differentiate from m550, Audi s6 and e63 though. Let's be honest - no one buys these cars to drift or take on a track anymore.

Yeah, no way this upcoming M5 has a MT. Heck, I think the next gen M3 might get a MT, but I suspect that would be the last one to get one as well.
