EDIT: In fact, I'd go in the opposite direction. For around-town driving, my '07 335 had a more flexible and easy to access torque profile than did my '08 M3. The latter didn't suffer from boost lag, but it was soft on power ALL THE TIME until you would it out, at which point you were going 120 in a 25 zone.
Fiddling with the pedal settings helps a lot. And I believe that the Epic tune is also life changing for drivability. It certainly was on the E46.

Also, keeping stockish E30s around is really good for managing power expectations. If the cars start feeling slow, just driving the red car for a few days, and 168hp of fury will recalibrate my butt dyno. Or the iX if I really need to dial it back (400lbs. extra weight and 20hp less at the wheels really makes it feel zippy).

Red one. Can't tell if it has Navi or not, but fits your price range:

I might send my Dad to look at this one. It needs to be significantly demodified (and have NAV deleted), but it's a good color combination and includes LCI tails (installed on a horrible "CSL" trunk).

Of course, the rear bumper doesn't quite look like it's on correctly, which is a concern.

Edit: Holy shit. If it's real, that AA muffler costs $3,500.

Guy says that someone is picking it up this weekend, but he'll let me know if that falls through.

Mileage is a little high, but it's at least interesting, stupid mods aside:

Too bad it's in New Jersey. That's close to disqualifying right there.
