Ok I finally got around to doing this last weekend. Thank god no leaks. The mirror glass was still sealed when I removed it. All in all not to bad. Start to finish about 1.5 hours and I was being super careful. I did break 3 clips separating the mirror housing but not enough of them to prevent a tight seal when putting it back together. I think there are like 12 total.

The removal of the old circuit board mounting bracket from the back of the bad glass was the biggest PITA. Got it reinstalled and it works great. Total savings of around $450 and that's not getting it done at BMW that's just the parts cost for the new mirror.

=)
