2019 Detroit Auto Show

Anybody up for a meetup at the Detroit Auto Show? Public dates are Jan 19-27 (the first weekend is long weekend for MLK day...).

Mrs. ZBB has expressed interest in going (again - we went back in 2002), and its only a 4 hour drive for us now. As long as no big storms are forecast, we’ll probably drive up and make a weekend out of it...

Maybe! Haven’t decided if I’m going this year. Lots of other shit happening in Jan next year.

I want to go. Haven't been since 2007 I think. Went with Alex and Nick. We were supposed to meet Plaz, but ran away before we got there. Again. He ditched us the year before, too. Or something.

Bump. Any interest?

We’re likely driving up to Detroit next Sat, crossing the border to do some Canadian grocery shopping (Mrs ZBB is homesick for a few things), then hitting the show on Sunday morning for a few hours before heading home.

No, can’t make it this year. Travel schedule in Jan just too insane.

Going to see how this government shutdown thing progresses and a number of other things to take care of themselves, but there's a lot to like about next weekend.

At the moment, things look quite possible for me to go with my 14yo daughter. She has a swim meet Saturday, so we wouldn't be able to leave DC until about 2:00pm which puts us in Detroit 10:30ish. We'd hit the show Sunday morning and probably leave by noon to go see a hockey game in Toronto Sunday night.

Looks like we are out. Another storm will be coming through the Midwest on Sat to Sun. Will be hitting Detroit Sat morning and dropping 5-8 inches by early Sun... It will be rain and freezing rain further south — so the interstates may be a mess.

We may try the following weekend...

Yeah, weather forecast is making it much less likely for me. Not going to call it until Friday, though. Probably.
