Bren and I drove it at an event in May. Bren only drove with me because the C4 didn't fit back together properly. Car was bone stock. I had a blast, except for the wheelspin. Car drove a lot like a loose RWD car except for the front wheelspin and no power on oversteer. Pitch and catch in a really fun way. There was lots of brake smell from the e dif torque vectoring stuff but it mostly seems to work as advertised.
I had a blast, but I think Bren was kind of frustrated. Second event was just me. Car was still bone stock. I drove with my head up my ass like the old days, but I still had fun. I was a little better with wheelspin, but just totally blew a few elements on each run. The car was still fun. Yesterday, I had the Hankook RS3s (v1) on. So. Much. Better. Wheelspin was almost a non-issue. Between the tires and pressures, the rear was a lot more under control. I might change the rear bar bushings and brackets. Someone I trust thinks the overly and sometimes unpredictable looseness is caused by the bushings getting bound up. I'm not sure I buy it, but I can test for under $50, so why not? There's another FoST with a few differences I'd like to swap runs with to see how it drives. Its owner/driver describes a different car. Anyway, yesterday, I didn't have my head up my ass. I was closer to on pace than I've been and I'm pretty sure I lost time by not being quite aggressive enough in a bunch of places. Picking up the throttle an instant too late here, rolling off a little too much there and lifting when a roll would have been better there and braking just a little earlier than needed here and so on. There two elements I just couldn't quite get right and one more I couldn't figure out which way was best even after doing it differently four times. My first run was slow. Second through fourth were within two tenths of each other, so dunno where I gained or lost. But I really enjoyed it and was pretty happy with how I drove which didn't happen very often for a long time.
