Congrats!

We're about nine months in to our daughter driving and she hasn't wrecked the Mazda yet.

She did destroy a set of tires though, just a few weeks in. Didn't realize potholes could be that bad.

She's loving the freedom of getting to drive around by herself. Even without really having any particular place to go.

Now I'm already starting to think about what I'll get for my son next year

Leading contender is a CX-5, I think

"Do you need anything from the grocery store?"

"Are there any errands I can run for you?"

My 16yo actually asked if I wanted to go for a drive around the Beltway with her one night earlier this week.

Enjoy!

If you end up looking used, we are still hemming and hawing about selling ours.

Wife loves it, but wants to get back in something with a manual.

What are the specs? Search here is not yielding good results

(But it wouldn't be for another year+)

I have been working with teaching my niece to drive... She is doing well (so far) with automatics. When it is time, I will expand to the manual transmission cars I have. Probably start with the E23. I think she is mature enough to even drive the 997 and get a feel for that when the time is right (with me next to her - of course).

Funny thing is that she is really has noticed how easy driving is for me (as compared to her parents who struggle to parallel park and other things). I have to remind her that I learned to drive both cars and work trucks. The trucks were from back in the day when they were TRUCKS. No frills...
1800 to 2000 gallons in 4 compartments and PTO's and.... very mushy gear linkage and fuzzy brakes and... rear view mirrors that buzzed like crazy and... all sorts of fun. We had trucks similar to this -

- - with transmissions that had non-synchronized gears (1st and 2nd) and dual range rear axle and low power and... no rear visibility and... all that.
Learning to drive when maneuvering one of these around is an awesome experience to give you all the good habits to start out.
My two brothers and I were very good at driving because we were raised in that environment. No rear view camera on that beast!!! LOL - I would have LOVED that!!!!
