The time capsule mileage aside this is a neat car.

That is a cool car. It should bring good money. If it were a GSL-SE... multiply that "good money" by at least 2.

The first owner is going to profit nicely. Currently at $231k, $66k more than MSRP.

So the current Pcar strategy is, take out a house style mortgage and buy one new “if you can even get on the list”, store it for a few years, then sell for a profit???

I don’t know if people are doing that since the 2008 recession. I hope not. I thought it was more that there’s just a lot of people that have had money accumulate during the pandemic.

I guess if you are speculating and using leverage, it’s one of the smarter plays to make.

Hasn’t that always been the thing with Porsche’s limited editions?

I really wish I knew what my dad sold his ‘89 Speedster for. He owned it for about 3 years but only put 800 or so miles on it…

I think Porsche has recently been inching closer to the Ferrari business model--keeping production low, requiring people to basically buy Car X to get Car Y-- for its more limited edition cars. And it seems like they're trying to push even the "normal" 911 into that these days.

They can afford to since the SUVs tend to sell really well.

Plus the corporate backing of the mighty VAG empire.
