Yeah, I went through that one too. Very well done. back in the early 80's I almost bought an X1/9. The car failed terribly during a test drive.

I also have a very good friend that suffered bad injuries in an X1/9 crash. She was very lucky that she was asleep in the passenger seat when the accident happened. If she had been awake (head upright) she could have been decapitated. Her head was on her boyfriends shoulder, and was just partially scalped

I don't get Alcantara one bit. It's just Ultrasuede by another name. And it doesn't patina with age, it pills.

And most of the seat was just cloth, which I still generally prefer, especially since BMW leather doesn't really wear all that well.
