The two storms that I did it for... No such let it melt option. There are a dozen houses, many with kids who have to go to school walking on my sidewalk. The ice piles from the last one are still persisting after days and days of thaw. My sidewalk would still be icy in patches today... No, I won't be that guy.

People do go around with shovels, yes might catch one next time and ask. I expect they'll either be shady or ask for too much money. Our better snow shovel was stolen from in front of the house in about an hour during the first storm.

I'm the guy who snoblowers the elderly neighbors driveways and half the court. Sounds like he just needs better neighbors to me.

There is one, only one, working snowblower in my upper neighborhood. The lower frontage is industrial and can be left a day longer, but there is no one, no neighbor, anything there. Just my garage/shed/carriage house and its white box. With ice there, I'm asking to be sued.
