The E46 is now on life support

Gotta keep it alive somehow.

Battery Tender Jr. The hardwire mount for the battery is pretty cool. Now I just open the trunk and plug it in. (Like an electric car, but different).

If you're really driving it that infrequently now, why not just unload it?

I favor the BatteryMinder myself. I use one on my 2002 and 740i. It is very similar to the Battery Tender but it desulfinates the battery. And it's just a bit more $$ as far as I can see..... but too much difference.

I have it hooked up through the cigarette lighter. That's a bunch easier than messing around with the battery itself.

But - YMMV as usual.

How rarely are you driving it? Seems like it should last at least a month without issue.

Damn, I need to stop making automotive decisions on my own. I'm always posting here first from now on.

I considered this seriously for a while, but I'm not ready yet.

1) I'm not sure how long my new love affair will last.

2) I'm not sure how reliable the E30 car will be, and it will be out of commission while I do some work on it.

3) And most importantly... my wife told me I am forbidden to sell the 330. She said if I sell it, I will just end up wasting even more money when I decided I need to buy a new car 4 months later. She's probably right.

Yeah, it's probably not really necesary. But I didn't want to have to think about it. Now I can drive whichever car I want, rather than thinking about which one needs a charge.

There may also be times that the E30 sits for extended periods as well, in which case I'd hook that one up instead.

I went through a period after buying the e30 where I was thinking that had I bought the e30 first I might never have bought the M3

It took about 4 months, but I eventually got over that silliness.

That's pretty much what I'm predicting as well.
