Well, shit
Boxster had a hard time starting today, then it misfires and gave me this on the way home. Limp mode, only able to do about 65mph, then only 45. I ran a few tests using the Durametric tool and its got low pressure out of the HPFP. apparently not only BMW DI engines have issues with them. Meanwhile our mazdaspeed with a direct injection engine is on its original pump after more than three times the mileage.
Annoying. |

I read a theory somewhere that never running the tank low may improve pump life. I'm crossing my fingers with the X3.
I got lucky with it just being a relay that triggered a light in the m3 the other day. When it threw the SMG light I started wondering if it was time for a manual swap. |

That sucks. How big a job is it to replace? And do 9A1 engines need walnut blasting?

I've heard of this before for the 987.2. Logically, 981's should suffer from it as well.

Looks like roughly a 4hr job. Not too bad. 850 in parts with a core charge. Ugh.
No warranty. |
