Numerous Ferraris, r8's, maseratis, panameras, 2011 5ers etc. in Istanbul today. This city is way more into cars (and conspicuous consumption) than NYC. Also consider that they cost double that in the US (and have multi-thousand $ tax/year if displacement > 2L).

Yesterday was NJ "Drive Stupid" day.

In celebration of that, I saw a F430 weaving across 4 lanes of 208 southbound (which only has two lanes, but he was treating the shoulder and median as lanes). I got past him during one of his shoulder excursions and when I was coming out of a fast food joint on Route 4, he went by. Used car dealer plates. Probably one of the people who runs a "dealership" for cheap insurance and to avoid the MVC (which is what NJ calls the place everyone else knows of as the DMV).

Personally, I would have waited for the Carrera Z28. On the other hand, picking up the hard to find M6 645Ci was a nice call.

I don't even have to tell you that both of these cars were automatics.

Saw an AMC Eagle 4-door yesterday.

Ok, so it's not a fancy sport car, but c'mon, you don't see many of them these days so it's a rare car sighting.

Saw one of these at the physician's parking garage where I work last week:

It stood out among the Porsches, BMWs and Mercs....

Saw a Super7 type car this morning. I was about a block away getting on to the freeway on ramp when I caught it at the last minute going straight ahead on the city street. Not sure if it was a Lotus or Caterham or what. But one of those types of cars: boxy, light, fast.

Last week, I went to a car meet and saw a dozen Lotus Elises (some supercharged), a couple Exiges, two GT-Rs, two Viper SRT-10s, a bugeye sprite with a turbocharged 13B, several FD RX-7s and more Corvettes (Z51s, as well as C5 and C6 Z06s) than I could count.
