I'm always tempted by these uber-Boxsters (and Caymans) but I end up in the same dilemma you appear to be in, Fernando. I want all the good stuff that comes with the bigger engine but the near-$100k price tag would make me afraid to use the thing and depreciate it. I mean, jeez, I felt the same way about my current Boxster at one point. Once it crested 60,000 miles I stopped worrying about it for some reason and I've enjoyed it a lot more since then.

This one is still overpriced, but...

I mean, c'mon. It was 80k new, and after nearly 5 years and 15k miles they ask for only a 5k discount? It's not even a color I want.

Here's a 2016 spyder with same mileage and color. Asking $88k and people calling it a great deal. WTF.

https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1212680

It makes me think that with MT's becoming increasingly rare, even at close to $100k, a new, custom-ordered GTS 4.0 with Euro Delivery may not be a bad long-term purchase. It may well be that last gen of that type of car.

I'm dreaming. And I'm just frustrated.
There's a 2016 Spyder in a better color here. Similar mileage, but MORE expensive:

At that ask, it's very close to a brand new GTS 4.0.

Edit: BTW, Porsche is expanding their Atlanta facility. And the two major dealers are collaborating on a service center at the new place. I suspect quite a few of their used offerings are their track demos.

That's crazy.

I got sucked into Harry's garage watching the x5 review. The next in the queue was the 718 4.0... In case you need a push into expensive direction:

Ugh. Why did I watch that? Who needs to save for retirement, anyway?

Keep in mind the virus aspect. The car market, particularly used cars, is still all fucked up. EVERYTHING is working form a baseline inflated about 20% more than where it “should” be.

My thoughts anyway

Yeah, that’s a good point. Thanks m in no rush. Maybe I should just wait at least until spring and see how things shake out.

It does feel like we’re in a bubble for used cars right now.
