I don't see the point of an XXX-amino if it's not front-engined. Starting with the 914, how much trunk is there? Two briefcases?

It's actually bigger than you might think; this pic shows it better. And in some sense it's not so different from the VW Type 2 pickups or the old Corvair pickups.

But yeah, I agree that it's a bit weird, and I'm confused about why someone built it.

They built it because they could... I don't get it but I don't get many things. If it was a trashed/troubled 914 donor, I don't see why not (assuming they have a ton of free time and capability to waste on something like this). If it were a nice 914 to being with, that'd be sad... Differing opinions.

Speaking of slow German cars. Put more than two briefcases in that and a microbus will give it a run for its money off the line probably

Story here--was built in the 70s for a Porsche wrecking yard:
