Porsche Every Day Contest Winner
So, Porsche held a contest asking people to make their own versions of Porsche's "Everyday" ad series. This is the winner.
http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...st-winner.html It's really quite good. I mean, ignore the fact that he doesn't close the frunk all the way at the end, or that it's hard to imagine how that Graco actually gets into the car with the mother and the father both in it as well. But that's what suspension of disbelief is all about, right? |

I think this is a pretty good ad for a Camry.
I think this is a pretty bad ad for a Porsche. (...mind you that's not a SUV in that ad) |

Besides, no kid in the world is going to look at his dad that way when offered the keys to the dad's 20 year old Camry. |

Right, but no family in the world is going to take a kid to the boardwalk or wherever they were going, with the wife carrying a car seat, and without a stroller and driving a 911.
Further, anyone with a 911 can afford a second practical car. Let's put this another way; you and I both know what the ad was trying to convey. It did not convey that for me with any sense of belief. That was NOT a Porsche ad, even if it is a Porsche ad. |

Perception: It is unreasonable to use a 911 as a family car. Actuality: It is unreasonable to use a 911 as a family car. Added bonus: 0.001% of all spouses would allow their man to claim a 911 is a family car. |

I think what Porsche is trying to do with this campaign is convince people a) they don't have to sell their Porsches the minute they have kids, but b) (and more importantly, from Porsche's perspective) they don't have to put off buying that Porsche they've always wanted until the kids move out and go to college. |

The fact of the matter is that the 911 is a usable family car. It's not ideal, no, but you CAN do it. It's all about priorities. That would be why a friend of mine just recently ditched his Cayman for a 997. Because he can get a baby seat in the back when he is driving to work. No, I don't see them getting two adults and a rear facing seat in very often (his wife is quite small, though), but it'll work just fine when they switch to front facing.

That was good.
But really, is it even remotely possible to fit 2 adults and a rear facing seat in any way? |

A Graco might fit under similar circumstances, especially if you did not use the base. |
