Would any of you buy a car sight unseen and have it shipped?

...that’s my stumbling block on the search for the 3 wagon. There’s just no getting close to the specs I want with periodic local options. This one is pretty great. Well suited colors, too, for ATL’s climate...
Looks nice in the ad... Ive never bought a car without seeing it and driving it home, but I have signed many deals without seeing the car until I showed up with payment. I wouldn't worry much on a car still under warranty, but it would be worth the $200 for a local Indy PPI if the dealer would allow it.

Looks nice! We bought our e70 sight-unseen from a dealership in Arkansas and had it shipped to MA. I developed a rapport with the sales guy and got comfortable that the car was as-described. It worked out well. Similar for the F15, but I just hammered out an agreement remotely and then picked it up in NJ so less risk there.

It's not something I've done, but I could probably talk myself into it on a car that still had some warranty left. I did agree to buy my E61 sight-unseen, though I flew out to pick it up before paying for it.

Thanks, guys. Yes, this is definitely what I would do, under normal circumstances. And may still elect to do when the world is less complicated and fraught.

There's really no urgency except my own impatience and obsessiveness about this decision. It's appealing to get a car like this and save $30k. But I also like the new X3 solution and the headroom of 4 years warranty and 3 free maintenance.

And so, the perseveration continues...

It’s very rare to find such a well equipped 3 series (much less wagon). When I was looking for new ones several years ago it was almost impossible to find one with adaptive cruise control (which I think is the one of the best car tech features of the past 20 years. It is frustratingly hard to find on premium european cars though. And when you do find one it’s likely loaded with nearly every possible option).

For 36K, that's a very appealing option. I would probably grab that car, assuming I could figure out a way to get comfortable--is there still a member that lives in Cleveland? Might be able to have someone swing by and put eyes on it, at least.

Take a look at the CarFax. Its start in life is a little weird...It's not just a straightforward order/lease situation.

Nicely spec’d but wow that’s expensive for a 2017 330. Wagon premium + used car market is crazy right now.

So it was used as a service loaner for a while? I guess that's not fantastic but it doesn't seem like a deal breaker.

From that history it looks like it might have been a former loaner car
