I look forward to your thoughts on the f80 if and when you drive it.

OK, regarding F80s--can someone give me the 30,000 foot overview on differences between the 16s and the later cars that make the later ones better?

And what about the competition package is desirable?

If I find a '16 with the M Adaptive Suspension, is that something I should still steer clear of?

I am sure FC can give a better summary but I think the initial pre-comp f80 had problems putting down the power to the rear wheels.

Carmax offered me 28K for the Golf. Given that retail is probably 31, that seemed fair (and well worth avoiding the PITA of selling privately).

Sad to see it go, but...not that sad.

I've sold a couple cars at Carmax in the past. They really do make it easy, and make offers that are more than fair. And with none of the game-playing that you get at normal dealerships.

Cool re: Golf R trade in.

M2 didn’t fare well here and I suspect al of the demerits here would aggravate you. Plus it’s such a little porker and only two doors.

Pls let us know how the M3 hunt goes.
