We pay nothing near that. But State Farm insures by car not driver. Our daughter is listed a driver but we didn't tag her to any car as the primary driver.
We insure 5 cars. Obviously the Tesla is the most expensive but, strangely, the M3C is the cheapest. For the 5 cars, which also includes the ancient E39, our A4 wagon and our daughter's GTI, we pay about $3200 every 6 mos (and the Tesla is more than $1200 of that). |

What do you think would happen if your daughter got in an accident while away at college? Are you concerned about being denied coverage if she's not listed as the primary driver? That seems super dicey

I’m not too sure how they handle it in his state but that doesn’t sound right to me and this is coming from a guy who does this for a living. Btw on this topic my advice ... list your child on the policy, not going to get into details but I have seen a Carrier deny collision coverage because the child wasn’t listed and had an accident. |

She is listed as a driver on all of the cars. She drives less than 3000 miles a year, so it doesn’t feel particularly improper to not call her primary on any of the cars. When she’s at school, the car mostly sits. And when she’s at home, I steal it sometimes. It’s way more fun to drive than the Tesla. |

And the five year plan begins... FC, you should start a spreadsheet for this planning.
The GTI is way more fun than the Tesla?! |

Not sure why that would be surprising. Small, nimble 6-spd versus massive heavy sedan. Aside from the RIGHT NOW acceleration, driving it is pretty pedestrian. I have it for the commute - HOV sticker and no gas. |
