I almost got a similar truck this summer, but instead ended up in a 06 silverado with extended cab, 8' bed, tow package, 5.3 flex, line-x, locking rear, blah blah blah, for as much as a Scion.

I've been beating the crap out of it, and have been very impressed. It hasn't missed a beat. I've been extremely impressed with the versatility of the interior. 6 adults hasn't been a problem, and the dogs have plenty of room when we put the rear seat up. The only problem I've had is trying to park at times. A 20'9" length with a 50.4' turning radius can make things a little interesting.

I think you'll be very happy. Congrats.

Yeah, if not for the distinct possibility of 10K+ loads, I'd probably have done that.

Don't think I didn't try to convince myself that I needed that smoke burner and Allison tranny. I drooled for a long time. However, I didn't really need the towing or 4x4 capability, and for half the price... well, it makes it easier to feed my motorcycle habit.

Will you be upgrading any performance bits? I hear Banks can really steam up that powertrain.

I'd really like to just leave the warranty intact.

Also, one of the virtues of the LBZ engine is that it's pretty fucking strong as is.

That's why I have not messed with my Power Stroke either.

That and the $$$ I don't put into the truck, I can spend on what I tow behind it.
