I sure hope the 2nd Gen M2 avoids this. From the recent leaked photos of the new 2-Series Active Touring. The instrument cluster and the iDrive screen are becoming one. Not a newsflash, but this is appears to be the first non EV BMW to receive it. The iDrive controller is gone as well.

Didn’t they already post a shot out there of a 2 series coupe with that giant screen in it?

Also side note. I saw a YouTube that the 2022 X3 M40i is not only getting the m mirrors but now even the tri colored stitched M steering wheel. Are quad pipes next?

I do not believe so. I seem to recall there was a spy photograph of what appeared to be a giant screen in a G87, no telling how legit it is?

Yes, the ‘22 X3 M40i gained those items as well as the M double slat kidneys with a non-removable M badge. The M brand continues to become even more diluted. M = Marketing.

THe upcoming i4 also has that screen. Still has an idrive knob though. I can't believe BMW is going with what appears to be a trackpad in that 2 series pic?!! I thought Lexus had demonstrated what an utterly terrible idea that is

+1

The more I see, the more I do not like…

Edit: more official pics from the 2-Series Active Tourer.

Not sure how much I trust this guy on the M2 board but he does work at a bmw dealership. If it’s true then M2 from the start will have the big screens. idrive 8

One step closer to pulling the plug… maybe it will drive/perform amazing and none of the other disappointments will even matter. Wishful thinking…
