[quote=clyde;570302]May not be best for you, but something like this can work well, too:
https://www.amazon.com/MaxxHaul-8074.../dp/B0753PNNS8 I like that very much... Some years ago I had HD cut me 2/3 25" squares of plywood and I stack on those, but this is way niftier... |

FWIW, I'm not endorsing that product. There are a lot of options like it, but this one was the first result with a decent simple to understand photo I could link.
I will be buying a few of something like this soon. I have an upcoming garage project and the only way it will work is if I can move stacks of tires on the regular.

It was under $15 as I recall (and often cheaper when paired with a coupon).

Exactly. No point in spending extra money for something so simple.

So mine arrived today, it looks great but there is a warning label on it which says this is to move wheels and tires and is not for for storage and basically says to remove the wheels and tires when done moving them ... I will still use it for storage, no idea why it says it should be used for that |

I just got a new gas cap (fancy aluminum look... I know, ridiculous) for the Porsche and it came with a warning to have it dealer installed only due to risk of explosion, proximity of highly flamable materials.

I can only imagine what sort of warnings my Atom should have come with - the gas filler cap was separated from the exhaust manifold by a carbon fiber body panel with aluminum/Kevlar heat blocking tape on the underside. For added fun it had an oversized filler neck which meant that gas station pump auto-cutoff didn't work.

For floor storage, I used "Tire Totes" which are available in a variety of brandings. This is an elastic cover that wraps around the tire and has a carrying handle. I also use the optional "wheel felts" to keep the wheels from getting scratched. Back when I would have a dozen or so extra mounted tires in the garage (race car + off-season tires for the E46 wagon) I also had the covers that go over a pile of 4 or 5 tires to keep crud off them. Those were the hardest to find, IIRC. |
