Some clips of new M240i’s going around the ring and a lot of other new performance cars coming. The Tesla model S with active aero is intriguing.

The one thing that stands out though is wow they are all so quiet. Jesus at this point with all of the sound regulations you might as well go electric.

ESP the new C63 you only see once. 4cyl will almost zero sound. Dark days for petrol sound junkies like me.

I might be down for the M 50th anniversary edition, but I suspect that would screw me out of individual paint.

SCA - At 1:44 does that sound like a manual? The rest is the ZF 8 I think.

Re BMW and the end of ICE.

BMW’s decision to engineer a 3 Series bespoke electric vehicle won’t spell the end of traditional powertrains as the sports sedan will get a next-generation model with gasoline and diesel versions. The two will peacefully coexist for a number of years before the ICE-powered model will be discontinued as it’s only a matter of time before the German luxury marque will switch exclusively to EVs.

As a matter of fact, BMW has alluded it could be ready for an internal combustion ban as early as 2030, even though that’s highly unlikely to happen so soon, at least not on a global scale. Europe will probably be the first to outlaw sales of new cars equipped with gasoline or diesel engines, but the official proposal made by the European Commission refers to 2035 as being the cutoff date for the ICE.

All sound the same to me…

How is one determining that these are competition models?

Really, I hear clutch work being done on the last clip.

They are probably guessing. Who knows.

Interesting post on BMW and ICE. I still think the G87 is the last hurrah, Big screens and all.

I blogged about seeing them during the Time Machine tour here. The bottom of that post has a full video of Red Barchetta live at that show.
