Walnut blasting?

The S55 in the M3 is coming up on 40K miles, and it occurs to me that it might benefit from walnut blasting at some point soon.

Any thoughts on that? Anyone in the MD/VA/DC area have a good lead on where to get it done?

The newer DI engines don't need it nearly as often (or at all potentially) as the older N54 gen engines.

I had my n55 completed at about 90k because the intake was already removed to get to the starter that failed. It wasn't too dirty. I wouldn't bother for another 25 - 50k miles

Yeah my N54 was waaaaay overdue for it by the time I had it done at 100k or so.

No recommendations, but your post makes me wonder, what would one blast a Tesla with to improve it?

Positrons? Prescription lithium? Humility?

Alternate option: Port injection retrofit and an E85 tune.

Is that possible with BMW engines? I know on the VW EA888 engine, it's available with dual injection in europe so people have retrofitted that system into US cars (usually along with other mods such as bigger turbos). Regardless, I'm sure the cost of it would make it not worth doing just to avoid having to walnut blast every 50k or so.

It's used for big power mods as you can't really upgrade the DI injectors. Would I seriously do it to avoid walnut blasting? No. But it would solve that.

Hopefully the b58 follows the n55 model. Some audi engines were afflicted as bad as the n54 family but no longer remember which ones. The rs4 engine?

What is the N55 model exactly? We blasted Mike’s old N55 at 35k and the valves were seriously crusty.
