I keep looking at this one...
http://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-bmw-m5-13/ My current E38 is at 200,000 miles and needs a bunch of VANOS work done (and probably other stuff) to the tune of about $5,000 or more... and the car is worth not much more than that - if any. I'm thinking of alternatives... I like the car - but have had E38's for almost 15 years now and had parents with E32 before that (1994 till they bought the E38 that I have now). So - I am just tired of the BMW 7... but not finding a good alternative. I just can't see spending the $$ that the M5 is going for on a car that is 'similar' to what I already have (similar being E39 of the early 2000's - regardless of the rest of it). I also see this http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-bmw-745i/ If I want to go off the deep end. LOL - am I crazy or what?

That's a good question.
Been thinking of an A/S 8 or 6.... Quattro would be good to have... Just can't seem to cross the "Audi's are not that reliable" feeling though. Then again - I drive a complex car already... Still as bad as the 7's can be - I hear even worse about Audi's. $$$? Dunno... $15k-ish?

Would you consider an Acura TL ... you could get a 2012 or 2013 close to your price range
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Acura-T...5YtsEh&vxp=mtr As far as Audi reliability I have had better luck with the Audi's compared to my past BMW's but they still could have some costly problems. Edit: what about a Cadillac CTS http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-Cadilla...NYgDwf&vxp=mtr |
