I think they didn't want to really flog an owner's car. The stock 245HP US Atom record is 2.71 from a standing start and 2.58 with a 1-foot pre-roll (drag strip method). Speaking of the drag strip method, Eddie Hill bought an Atom and we convinced him to come to AtomFest last year. He used to say he was retired and wouldn't travel, but he's been a regular at the track with his Atom since then.
