Just saw this today. Not sure how solid their research is, but they are reporting a 41% drop in range when temps drop from 75F to 20F (i3, Bolt, Leaf, eGolf and Tesla Model S).
The Vermont ski trip is a tradition for me since 2000. 20F is balmy, we usually encounter colder, worst was -15F, in the parking lot, not on the mountain. I just cannot see how I could go electric-only with current technology. It may be only a few % of the miles I do per year, but they are among the most important. Tires are crucial too, so I don't like renting a vehicle for it. |
