I'm looking for a nice, late-model 928 with manual transmission. Of course, "nice" and "928" don't really go together - I saw an ad for one for $15K, and the seller's description reads "Includes receipts for $18K of repairs in the last 6 months".

Re: 928's. Look on rennlist. I still have pca membership, I took a quick look on pca.org. I don't understand this model and it's pricing. There are 54k miles ones for $7k and similar mileage ones for $20-30k (crack).... Good luck.

Are you going to be in JC Saturday before 3 PM? Feel free to come check it out - PM me for the address if you're interested.

I think it depends on whether it has exploded yet (and whether it was repaired or not). Watch this Top Gear video for an idea of what can go wrong (everything):

Progress halted for a busted vacuum line and some needed o-rings.

On a side note, an M10 bolt shot out from a wire wheel really smarts when it hits knuckles.

Cool intake runners. Is that what's hiding under all that plastic?

No plastic on this one.

Those runners are a PITA. They use 4 different sized bolts, and if you don't label them clearly during dis-assembly it can be kind of tricky to figure out what goes where.

I always appreciated that style of intake for the SBC engines of that era. Much more appealing than the plastic covers of the subsequent years.
