They follow the trail and will come after the dealer for the $$ difference, so not much incentive for them to do it. I think they can match it back based on address in addition to name. I could try and find a loophole but not sure it’s worth it if. Deals on 2019s are pretty good and I would like the upgraded tech.

I had a 2019 530 loaner last week and was really impressed with it. Competent, comfortable, big step forward in tech and it drove half decent. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Your car looks great, gotta love that engines too.

If I recall you got an amazing lease deal on that car, I am curious to see what deal you get on the M550, I was getting prices in the mid $1100 range but that was on a 2 year lease.

What’s the reason for being so militant about not letting people buy off-lease cars? I mean, the market value is what it is.

I see it from both sides. I agree, market value is what it is - so why stop me from buying at the price anyone else could? But they also have a 90%+ guarantee the dealer will buy it anyway so they’re not losing out by missing my purchase of this car and can avoid seeing me “double dip” on the savings. Creates incentive for me to go get a new one instead. I have no clue how this is working out for them though w/ loyalty and how many people come back for a new one vs. walk away. I could also buy someone else’s heavily discounted off lease 2016 550 lol.

It’s been great for me. Late production is the secret but I think the even earlier models aren’t bad on the 4/6 cyl. BMW had some V8 issues in earlier model years (and other x5, 6, 7 models of that vintage) but my car has the updated version.

I had one random hiccup last year where the radio and HVAC units on the dash went dark and got some warning lights. By the time I got to the dealership to get it it looked at later that day, everything had reset back to normal. They did some reset of a control unit and it was “fixed”.

Otherwise, nothing other than oil changes. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I had any issue of significance w/ any of my BMWs. (Knocking in wood)

I had a F10 535 and 550, both were great except the wheels and Goodyear tires are horrible.

The wheels are soft and bend easy and the Goodyear’s suck ..

Here is a reminder

http://forums.carmudgeons.com/showth...594#post484594

Btw my brother had a 640 with the same tires and wheels and had the same issue.

Fast forward to today and I have had no issues with my new 540 (current model) but this time bought the wheel and tire insurance.
