I've come around to the idea that since all of these cars are turbos, my typical snobbery about versions might be inapplicable to the T. I wanted to drive one that was for sale locally here back in Jan or whatever, but it sold before I could get out there (and that was before the market got *really* stupid).

Still, as much as I could probably be persuaded that the T is a special car, it's hard to get behind paying 112K for one that's 3 years old.

I would like to drive the T and the non-T back to back in such a situation. I do like to daily drive or take occasional long trips with porsches. I'm not sure I'd love removed sound deadening. At least it seems to have back seats.

Yeah.. i don't really get the appeal of the T to be honest. It was basically an appearance package for a base carrera plus diff and sport exhaust, but somehow it's gotten blown up to be some sort of "junior GT3 touring". With all the weight reduction options checked, i think it saved at best 44 pounds or something (iirc that required an "infotainment delete" as well). And its not like you couldn't get a manual in a base 991. Anyway.. 911 prices are silly enough without paying premiums for "special editions" like this. What would be cool is if they ever put the NA engine from the Cayman GT4 into a 992 and called that the "T" (yeah, i know it'll never happen).

But then your earlier point got to me about depreciation —these cars are listing for $220k. And minor depreciation here is still big bucks. I could live with it. But i don’t want to be screwed by the potential COVID19 bubble we are living through in addition to normal depreciation.

992 GT3 touring starts at $161k. It does make the 991 gt3t cars seem way overpriced.
