I just saw an ad for this place:

http://www.autobahnspeed.com/index-baltimore.php

Indoor, electric (20 HP) karts.

I've heard of it, but didn't realize the karts were electric.

I've been there probably five times since it opened. It's meh. The karts have instant torque, but it's nearly impossible to pass on both courses. Also, I think it's way overpriced for what it is. I'd suggest going on a Mon - Thu evening because there's less of a crowd and it's cheaper. You might hit 30 mph if you're lucky because it's so tight. I prefer allsports in Dulles or summit point.

Don't go in the winter because the karts' battery dies 2-3 laps into your session.

I was going to say that place is awful, but it's not. It's well run, the people are nice, and the karts are well maintained (maybe because it's pretty new).

As Chris said, the bad part is the layout. They crammed two courses into a warehouse that would be pretty comfortable with one, and as a result there are really no places to pass. Plus, they will slow everyone's karts down if there is even a minor spin or loss of control, packing the field up. The tracks aren't very fun either. And while the karts are torquey they don't have anything resembling linear "throttle" response.

Now, they do all their races by fastest lap, so passing isn't really important, but that's the fun part about WtW racing, right?

I went once, did three sessions and will never be back. I'll save my pennies to go out to SPK.

Sounds like a pass.

Would have been nice to have a decent place closer.
