$600 seems insane, too. I had a run of replacements a few years back when my now-ex-wife kept killing batteries by running the A/C with the engine turned off. The most expensive one was an Optima for the S2000, at right around $200. And I thought that price was extreme.

I got a pretty high quality Bosch for the e46 M3 in the last two years. It was sub-$150 (with credit figured in from the last battery that didn't go as long as it should). Also no dealer fees or coding. Yay for old cars!

Not to threadjack, but seems appropriate timing to share this part of my past 24 hours in Florida...

Ok frustrating end to this thread ... i've been contacting the salesman on a regular basis .. yesterday after checking in to see if the car is finally back at the dealer I get a text it's not yet ready and then a text later that day the manager sold the car while still at the McClaren dealer .... I checked the McClaren dealers website and it's not listed on there website but it was a big disappointment.
I just don't get it ... not that I'm actively looking for a car, I just happen to see this one and wanted to get into it a little further .. something felt right meanwhile I still don't want to get rid of the R8 or the 911 Sheesh I don't even want to car shop but damn that car looked so good Last edited by Alan; 08-18-2017 at 08:59 PM. |

Yes. They're outnumbered and tough to find, though.

I don't know who Jon Shafer is but the salesman who sold us our CX-5 was awesome.
