Very interesting indeed, as it catches me at a time of transition... Does it have heated seats? What tires are on it? Does it have a spare?

No heated seats. It was originally a California car. E61s with manual transmissions were nearly all built-to-order, so they almost invariably have weird configuration issues.

It has Eagle RS-As, which aren't great tires but they aren't terrible for what the car is. The wheels are 17", so tire choices are plentiful and fairly cheap. It has a spare and no run-flats.

I haven't *entirely* decided to sell the E61 over the Golf (there was a big thread about that at one point), so if you want a Golf R instead, let me know...

Lovely color combo and the end of an era in terms of possible bmw spec, but I'm going to pass. Thanks!

BTW, which car does Mrs. JST want to keep? Assuming you're going to drive the Tesla. Is she really that indifferent to Golf R vs. e61?

She likes driving the Golf more, but thinks the wagon is more practical. I can't really disagree.

I have to chime in with the suggestion that the e91 splits that difference.

LMC over at the Fest has a manual e91 for sale.

This car really makes me wish my wife was willing to learn and live with a manual transmission. Our E46 touring is definitely getting long in the tooth, and I'd love this.

Just not going to happen though.

Come on, Plaz. You can do it. I think at some point my wife told herself that lots of people in the world dumber than she is are able to drive a manual, so why couldn't she?

And the death's door MINI is the perfect car to learn on.

Actually, damn good point about learning on the Mini. Not many folks have that kind of option. (I remember a college girlfriend totally frying the clutch on my E30. I swear I smelled it for weeks.)
