Thanks folks... It really is an attractive vehicle in person in fantastic condition. No messy family or dog has ever made its home in there. I felt a slight (very slight) attachment to it when I did the wash & picture session yesterday. A big girl with a big turbodiesel heart if you will. It was the engine and the amenities that fooled me in the first place.
Since I priced it aggressively (and reasonably close to trade-in) I'll just hold on to it for the winter if I don't get a very close offer and reconsider in the spring. If I were to keep it longer term, I'd be looking at spacers to push the wheels out to line up with where the 20's would have been, springs to drop it about 1.5" (hopefully not ruining ride) and non-runflat quality tires. The dueler's are not as terrible as expected, mainly ho-hum, but I cannot get over the fact they each weigh 10 pounds more than my snow tires of the same size. Between the weight and the 'green X' on the LRR michelin's, I think there is a 2mpg hit to highway mileage on this set. |

I really have no clue. I'd like a nice '11 335xi, but they are overpriced at dealers around here, nearly as much as my x5.
The sentence you quoted is precisely why I'm having trouble getting a wrx, despite the nice driving feel. The new wrx generation just got announced. The interior seems improved in pics, but with Subaru, who knows? Sedan now gets folding rear seat backs, but there is no hatch announced and the engine drops from 2.5 to 2.0 and CVT nonsense... So '11-'14 hatches are pretty sweet, if you are ok with the interior, poor mpg's and seats. At a loss, perhaps a e60xi? 530xi's are pretty old now (06-07), but they might be peppy enough and perhaps more reliable than the 535's... Not sure. Not the prettiest car, but I'll try driving one. |

I have no complaints going from my m5 to the 335. It's a very pleasant all around car, I don't think you'd be disappointed with one of those.

I was ogling your 335ix on autotrader! I don't think those deals are easy to find, dealers/CPO cars are asking high 30's for that good spec sheet.

What a cool vehicle.
I like the way the X5 looks but that color combo is very nice. I've been looking at diesel X5s and bluetec ML wagons. My hesitance has been that the a6 3.0T/e350/535 wagons really feel a lot better out and about on the road (dynamically). And this point is obvious, but it doesn't matter for a lot of people hence the X5 sales numbers versus the 5er wagon sales numbers.
