Sorry to see that tire. You're pretty lucky. Looks like you saved the wheel.
Two weeks after I got the Yukon (in 2000), I wasn't quite as lucky.... I was running an errand at lunch hour and was going ~75 on the freeway when all hell broke loose. <BOOM> Right front tire. I was actually pretty pleased how the truck behaved. Nothing major - Just a mild "I want to drift right" feeling but I remained in control. And - Yes. The tires were Firestone. It was right in the middle of the Explorer mess. Firestone was happy to make me happy. I got a set of Bridgestone Dueler HL's out of it - N/C. My insurance took care of the wheel. Scared the &^%$ out of me for ~20 seconds but all was OK in the end.

Am I the only person that saw this subject line and initially thought of the type of incident where a diaper's capacity has been greatly exceeded by a bowel movement?
