Now that it's driving without a human in the vehicle I agree with you.

I suspect this is the catalyst that was needed for laws to start changing.

Beta AND.... the warning also tells you not to use it unless you can see the car, and you need to hold the button in and release it if you see a problem.

What could possibly go wrong?

We have all pointed out the problem, so don't touch the button!

Ever see the movie Time Bandits?? "Don't touch it, it's evil"

So for instance, when you see a human driver engrossed in their phone that is about to run over a pedestrian and then smash into your Tesla, you'd want to release the button?

So I received v10 last night.

Netflix / Youtube work -- as long as you are pared and on wifi.

I didn't try out the new summon though. Maybe I'll try it in an empty parking lot at some point. Maybe not. Never really used the original version though...

Yeah I watched some Hulu in the garage and it was pretty awesome. Sounds really good.

You need to be in wifi for that? It doesn't just work if you're out and about?

Video is wifi only apparently...

I tried the new Summon after work today. I left work a bit late, so the garage was empty. I stood about 5 parking spots away and activated it. The car backed out of the spot turning as it backed up. It then put on its right turn signal, turned the wheels to the right and moved forward. It made it about 10 feet before it came to a stop and turned her wheels left. I ended my experiment when it started moving forward again (it’s only went a food).

It looked good until it came to a stop and tried turning right. At that point I think the AI was drunk...

After years of anticipation, autonomous vehicles are now being tested on public roads around the world. As ambitious innovators race to develop what they see as the next high-tech pot of gold, some experts warn there are still daunting challenges ahead, including how to train artificial intelligence to be better than humans at making life-and-death decisions. How do self-driving cars work? How close are we to large-scale deployment of them? And will we ever be able to trust AI with our lives? (Premiering October 23 at 9 pm on PBS)
