That is so deeply weird.

I actually kind of like it because it’s so absurd.
And it’s not like it looks worse than most of the new HD trucks.

We'll see. The question of how you give a BEV pickup truck long enough range to make it useful is an interesting one. If your choice is between this for $70K and a Rivian R1T for $140K, you might decide the compromised utility is useful. In any event, even if this doesn't work as a pickup, it'll work fine as an Escalade/Navigator replacement. |

True statements. The plug in electric stovetop is pretty sweet too.

If you drive a Tesla truck, you're a poseur that wants to flaunt your wealth and look down on the little people and everyone knows it. Some people are going to be cool with that, sure. Many probably will not. Primary question is whether the former is large enough to buy all of the first model cycle Tesla can build. My guess is they probably can. Either way, I think that if Tesla can get the truck to production, they can get it there with a solution that allows it to be all things to all people. I don't know if they will, but I do think they can.

You got to wonder if this was all planned. Look at all the free publicity this stunt has generated

I looked at the specs and it has a 6.5' bed. I don't really get how that's possible given the roomy back seats.
In any case, I put in a deposit for the tri motor. I'm pretty sure don't want one, but for a fully refundable $100 I'm willing to get in line. It won't be available until 2022 earliest so I have plenty of time to change my mind. |
