Since when is the Gadsden Flag racist?

In Virginia, the Gadsden flag plates are Tea Party plates; the original number sequence for them all ended with "4TP."

I don't think that makes them racist--certainly not as much as the Sons of Confederate Veterans tags that we also have here, because South. But it is a good indicator of political idiocy. I just love seeing Tea Party plates on Chrysler products.

4TP is pretty ridiculous.

I am not a fan of Confederate plates. To Rick Perry & Greg Abbott's credit, the state has spent 5 years trying to prevent them in Texas. Hopefully the Supreme Court will be sympathetic.

Sorry for making the extra leap that TP = racist. It's not a full overlap, although there is strong (very strong) correlation.

The better ones are the "In God We Trust" plates, which originally ended in "4HM."

And the For Hire plates, which all originally ended "HAC."

Of course, I've told the Pight Derrorism story before.

I did not know this until today, but TXDOT actually publishes the how many of each specialty plate are registered. So many categories, some of which have tiny numbers issued. Sad that the Young Lawyers plate, which I think is one of the best only has 558.
