Is the SQ7 a go yet?
We have the roof box for vacation. It's pretty much a necessity - or it at least makes life a lot easier. If you have a place to store it when not it use do that. I also have a hard time imagining you'll spend more in out of warranty expenses than in depreciation on another uber-suv. |

To each their own, obviously, but a big SUV seems like overkill for 2 kids. The MDX would be a nice compromise. It's big on the inside without being obnoxiously large on the outside. Very good MPG, great engine, probably very good reliability and resale.

Yeah, you guys are giving good advice. An MDX totally makes sense except it has a lame engine.
Some additional criteria: must have at least 400hp. I don't care about MPG too much as we only drive about 6K miles a year. SQ7 is apparently unlikely to come to the U.S. or it would be perfect (assuming it would get the v8 from the S6 and S7). |

I mean, this narrows the list quite a bit, right?

There's always the Jeep SRT8 in the x5'ish size realm, or a Cayenne GTS.
I don't begrudge the power requirement, but in this era of the 2.0 turbo you are probably going to have to have some wiggle room. Our x3 with what? 300HP, can get a little "sluggish" when it's loaded down, but it's still faster than 98% of the other stuff on the road. You shouldn't really be racing around with 2 kids in the car anyway. |

Not sure on the timing, but the new X3 will get an M version sources say.

Wait, why aren't you buying a modelX? (Yep, now it's a Tesla thread.)

Hahaha! I guess I should probably just go get another X5. I'm starting to think we drag too much stuff around given some of the responses here.
