My S4 on the market.

So the crafty small porsche specialist I bought my Boxster from (consignment) managed a 3-way trade with the audi dealer nearby and got me a solid trade-in. The flip side of my solid trade-in is the simply insane price the audi dealer is asking for my S4. They were very excited that it was a manual, that sealed the deal in getting my trade-in ask. I hope they make some money on it, but this seems kinda high to me, doesn't even look certified.

This is why I almost always rule out buying lightly used cars, from dealers at least. Asking price is often a few K cheaper than the brand new version I'd buy. Sometimes the new one is cheaper because it doesn't have options I wouldn't want.

There are a few 2014/2015 S4's on autotrader between 40-45K, but they all have more miles than yours (20-30K) so I'm not sure yours is that far out of line.

EDIT: Here's a private sale that looks similar spec and is $7K less.

I never bought anything from them, but used their service dept a few times. Don't know if they still do this, but their policy on loaners used to be "get something better than you dropped off." My boss once dropped off his A4 and got an A8 loaner.

I used to live in Randolph (Mine Hill) and there is a lot of stupid money floating around Randolph, Chester, and Mendham

That area has been bountiful for my used vehicle hunting recently.

My last motorcycle, perfect 2012 R1200R with only 2,400 miles was from a nice gentleman in Chester.

The perfect 2013 Boxster is also from Morris County, off consignment, and I think the owner is also from Chester. He put on 8,000 miles in three years, washed it weekly. MSRP was $92k + full clear bra + tax (and maybe some discounts). I got it for way, way less than that.

I said it in my 'pending' thread. Wonderful previous owner quite literally checked almost every option box. Major dollar items:
- gt silver
- full leather interior in natural red
- PASM (adaptive suspension)/ PTV (lsd) /SportChrono/ PSE (exhaust)
- Bose/Nav/PDLS (xenon+)
- Premium package /heat/cool/18-way seats
- Roll bars painted and some other things
- 20" classic wheels

Minor but (crazy) items:
- key painted in gt silver
- key pouch in matching red leather
- leather console and extended in the interior (there are literally no plastic surfaces)

I found two that he missed:
- steering wheel heat
- rear park distance

$92k for a boxster .... sheesh that is 'base no options' 911 territory ... good for you... he probably got pennies on the dollar for the options that brought the price to that level and you got a bargain plus a mint car !!

If the S was black I would've bought it from you! The dealers around here couldn't find any MT S4, and I can't order one anymore.
