I talked to the seller today.

The gal is a very 'non car' person. She has had it for 15 years. Seems like lots of things coming to age with the car and will need attention. I will call her mechanic tomorrow. VANOS is untouched. Clutch probably will need to be done too. And yes, lots and lots of small dents/scratches/scrapes and such.

Jesus, those were crap in 1992, and 25 years hasn't improved them.

Just looking at that interior is giving me PTSD flashbacks from my buddy's 1984 Cavalier, which used many of the same materials.
