Nah. A 2er will never be the same as a 3er sized sedan. The eGolf has been so well received in our family because of the 4 doors and good cargo space behind. The 2er would never viewed as more than a toy car that can fit the kids in a pinch.

Its not the same a s a 3er, but with the LR4 and E - Golf / model 3 you don't need another 3er. You need a car you can enjoy driving that can do kid duty when needed.

2 series vert is top of my list to replace the 3 wagon in a couple of years.

Matters not, though, because if it's a roadster you want, neither gives you the roadster feel, nice as they are. |

Just like how Audi's current A3 is about the same size as the A4 was 15 years ago.

I haven't compared actual dimensions, but I can say the back seat layout (along with the front seat set up) is significantly more comfortable for people in the 1er compared to an e36 / e46. My very tall 10yr old did 600 miles in the back this weekend with no complaints. I routinely put 2 teenage girls back there w/o bitching. It works very well for what it is. The functionality of the back seat allows my fun car to be my daily. Today for instance, I dropped my son off at camp w/ the top down and had a great drive into work. Wouldn't be the same with a P-car. Two seats is a non-starter and the 911 back seat is a joke.

I don't get the 2er vert. A small car with an even smaller interior that is also quite heavy. I guess I'm not the use case.
The miata to boxster switch is not all about performance in terms of time around a track. It's about solidity, how they cope with bumps, how they feel in bad weather. I haven't driven the ND, but I've driven an NA (back in the day) and the NC numerous times. Every time, I was disappointed. Didn't handle on bumps, didn't feel like it "gripped", wasn't comfortable enough... Boxster (of any generation) wins every time, as long as you can afford to maintain it. |

If you can swing it, buy this one:
http://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-m...boxster-s.html I'm not on board with the new m3 so much. Great interior & seats, but every review I've read talks about its trouble in the wet and in putting down its power. Too much for a northeast DD IMHO. |
