New snow wheels

At least 3 out of my 4 winter wheels (M Contour replicas) are bent so I need new ones. At this point, I'm not sure if I need new snow tires, but, either way, I'll be using 17 inch Hankook Icebears for my winter tire. Does anyone have any suggestions on suitable replacements for the M contour replicas?

Thanks.

Any used set of 17" wheels from either an M3 or any E46 is probably the cheapest route.

I'm trying to recall what BMW charges for steel wheels. Though I wonder if they'd survive the bad winter roads any better than aluminum wheels do?

Yeah, you are right. I haven't looked, but I have a feeling the e46 ones will be cheaper at this point. I want something somewhat resistant to bending though; we drive this thing up rutted mountain roads through relatively deep snow in the winter.

Too bad I didnt wind up selling the ZHP. I would have sold you the M68's I use as winter wheels. They are stagered though.

I'm not putting steel wheels on my M3.

Edit: The snows are on for too long to make that sacrifice - I don't want it looking like total crap all winter.

Yeah, I want 225s all around since it needs to be the German snowplow all winter.

I'd recommend a set of the non-staggered 17s that came on the '95 M3, actually, if you can find them. I had those for my track wheels when I had the ZHP; I sold my set for $400ish, IIRC.

Check craigslist.

Here are a couple of options:

OEM M Contours, probably too expensive:

Aftermarket wheels, cheap but kind of ugly:

I have 17-inch steel wheels mounted with snows for the 330i plus BMW center caps. They do look like crap all winter long, but they have survived eight years on DC's pot-holed roads. They are starting to show a little rust at this point. And I think it's nearly impossible to find the steelies in 17 inches anymore.
